The Academic Rating Index (ARI) is an online learning analytics platform that seeks to derive sentiment out of the student-supervisor relationship with the view of enhancing the relationship in the long run. Built upon the 7Cs framework, the ARI sheds light on various aspects of the relationship. In essence, the ARI amalgamates the cumulative ratings garnered by an academic supervisor throughout their academic trajectory along with the frequency of ratings received to produce a figure representing the journey. In an effort to promote good relations, the matching of like-minded students and supervisors is achieved through the use of algorithms.
